Specifications: 

Our client, a leading distributor, is looking for a Client Success Account Manager to join their team in Marlow. You will be responsible for maintaining/expanding relationships with strategically important customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and helping to define and execute a “best in class” structure and service that will lead to further success. 

You will be working with clients and internal stakeholders in planning/implementing/on boarding, including IT, operations and best process of new and existing customer accounts.  You will have overall responsibility for managing all operations and account issues and will be  preparing and presenting monthly/quarterly reviews with fulfilment accounts, as well as working closely with fulfilment customers to ensure smooth delivery of all change requests required to expand value added services.      

Duties of the role will include:

  • Checking all ongoing client invoices and billing at month end
  • Preparing quarterly/annual review presentations with performance review and forward product and marketing plans
  • Identifying/developing cross/up selling opportunities, proposing ideas for improvement
  • Monitoring client account performance
  • Supporting project work and new initiatives developed within the team and, where appropriate, taking responsibility for project delivery
  • Delivering strategic and operational management of fulfilment accounts
  • Providing and communicating relevant sales reports and administrative functions to the clients and business
  • Providing clear back office requirements, ensuring these are delivered
  • Identifying/ensuring delivery of process efficiencies to further enhance the on-going relationships with clients
  • Ensuring customer SLAs are set/monitored/achieved/reported
  • Managing all customer account issues and arranging site visits and regular contact meetings to review accounts issues, performance, strategic growth, pipeline and other areas of service delivery
  • Ensuring all price lists are maintained by adding new products, deleting obsolete products and amending any prices upon receipt of the Sales Director’s price list
  • Proactively managing back orders, ensuring clients are aware of any stock issues and replacement products
  • Providing mentoring and feedback to the team to ensure the support of a continuous learning environment
  • Delivering contracts and contract changes within the company governance model
  • Acting as an escalation point
  • Liaising in a professional manner with the relevant departments and clients
Special Requirements: 
  • Full UK driving license with own car as will be expected to visit their distribution centre on a regular basis
  • Exposure/experience of account managing high value clients, with multiple client touch points
  • An understanding of profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g. gross margin, percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash flow, overheads etc.
  • Self-driven, results-orientated, determined, with a positive outlook, a natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance
  • Articulate, credible and comfortable dealing with/speaking to senior company executives
  • Reliable, tolerant, organised and able to adapt to change
  • Empathic communicator with the ability to see things from the other person’s point of view
  • Well-presented/business-like/excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator
  • Proficient with MS Office, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally Access
  • A keenness for new experience, responsibility and accountability
  • Ability to get on and work with others and be a team player
  • Flexibility to work extended hours
  • Ability to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large contracts (or even a business), particularly achieving genuine sales growth from existing managed accounts (experience of tenders/sales presentations would be an advantage)
